Have you heard about digital sublimation printing on hard substrates?

ChromaLuxe is an extension of the Universal Woods family, the world's leading manufacturer of sublimatable products for hard surfaces. It is also a sister brand of Unisub, which provides the highest quality promotional printable items. However, ChromaLuxe is primarily dedicated to photographic and design media with perfectly smooth surfaces.

Through sublimation, images are transferred from transfer papers directly to our specially treated panels in metal, wood, or other modern materials. It is widely known in professional photographic practice that this is one of the highest quality hi-end photographic media in the world. All products are made in the USA with manufacturing and production in Louisville, Kentucky.

Create a stunning visual impression on your audience with ChromaLuxe print media. Instead of printing images directly onto a surface that can easily scratch, the image is sublimated into the surface to ensure permanent protection. Showcase your professional photos or artwork in a way that will impress your audience like never before.

It's simple. You buy a Chromaluxe panel - either in the form of a large full-size plate or pre-formatted in standard photo formats from 5 to over 200 cm wide. You print the image with sublimation ink on transfer paper. You attach this to the Chromaluxe blank and press.

A huge advantage of digital sublimation printing is its low cost, given that 1m2 costs less than 1€. You do not have to modify the printed image in any way. No varnishing, laminating, nothing. You attach the paper, press it and you're done.

Available materials

Aluminium
Aluminium panels are lightweight, durable, made from recycled material and 100% recyclable. They are ideal for displaying artwork and photographs in a variety of applications from residential to commercial use.

MDF - medium density fibreboard
Offers the creation and display of beautiful, vibrant lettering or artwork with a traditional look. It is used in the furniture industry in the form of, for example, doors for luxury kitchens.

Hardboard
Hardboard is available in 3mm and 6mm thicknesses and provides excellent image reproduction as well as scratch resistance.

Steel
Steel panels are not only very hard, thin and magnetic, but also offer excellent scratch, abrasion and stain resistance.

Natural wood
The base is MDF, which has a maple veneer on the surface to give a natural wood look. Ideal for photography and interior design.

Phenolic veneer
A thin, impact-resistant composite material makes phenolic a valuable substrate for many applications. Compared to laminate, phenolic can be used on other materials to fill the need of those who want to cover large areas with a smooth surface and can also be used on rounded products. Most common applications: table tops, furniture, doors and more.

Material surfaces

The basic Chromaluxe product range includes 6 types of finishes. These are 3 transparent and 3 white.

The white has a white surface for photo reproduction and is the perfect all-purpose surface for any photo.

Transparent has a clear coat through which the original backing material is visible. It is the perfect application for certain types of images, especially high contrast photographs, black and white photographs as well as colour photographs of technical objects.

Both bases are available in the following variants:

Gloss has a beautiful high-gloss surface with a 3D feel.
Semi-gloss is popular in areas that have high reflection.
Matte has a smooth matte finish
